Manston Airport (Kent International Airport) is located near the area of Ebbsfleet Village and off Ebbsfleet Lane, Ramsgate, Kent.
Ebbsfleet Village is located in the Borough of Thanet in East Kent, near the town of Ramsgate. Not be to be confused with Ebbsfleet Valley, a new town near Gravesend in the Borough of Gravesham
Ebbsfleet Village in Thanet is known for St. Augustine's Cross, a standing stone cross constructed in 1884 to mark the place where St. Augustine landed in 597. It is said that St' Augustine would have landed on a part of land reaching out into the previous 'Wantsum Channel', known as the Ebbsfleet peninsula. The exact location of his landing is under speculation, as it has been proved geographically that the landing could not have taken place at the cross itself at the time suggested.
Wheras Ebbsfleet Valley is home to Ebbsfleet International train station situated in North-West Kent, which provides access to Europe via Eurostar channel tunnel rail link from the UK. Ebbsfleet Valley is not local to Manston Airport, but the high speed rail link to Europe can be boarded from Ashford International train station.
Ashford International train station is in Ashford, Kent not far from the M20 Motorway. Train services offer high speed railway services to European destination's, along with fast trains to London. Trains direct from Paris and Brussels dominate most other modes of transport to these regions.
